CR2032 vs CR2025 vs CR2016

Can I use a CR2025 instead of a CR2032?
They have the same diameter and voltage, but the CR2025 is thinner and holds less: about 170 mAh against 235 mAh.[2 · Oct 29, 2026][1 · Oct 29, 2026] Whether a thinner cell makes good contact depends on the device's battery holder, and none of the makers we checked say a swap is fine. Unverified. We couldn't confirm a reliable source for this yet. Energizer's advice is to use the size and type the device maker specifies.[4 · Oct 29, 2026]

- Energizer lists all three for watches, medical devices, key fobs and electronics.[4 · Oct 29, 2026]

Keep coin cells away from children
Energizer's CR2032 datasheet warns that a swallowed coin cell can cause serious injury or death in as little as 2 hours.[1 · Oct 29, 2026] If a child may have swallowed one, call the National Battery Ingestion Hotline at 1-800-498-8666 or Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222 right away, and don't make the child vomit.[8 · Oct 29, 2026]
